For Binghamton’s Clinton Street Neighborhood Business District, WPD assisted in preparing a comprehensive Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) application. Working with the City of Binghamton and Barton & Loguidice, we drafted an online survey to gauge residents’ opinions about the primary issues they’d like to be addressed and the opportunities within the Clinton Street corridor that they’d like to be explored. We also prepared the marketing materials, such as flyers, social media post releases, and postcard mailers with QR codes for digital access to the survey. Our scope included assisting in the preparation and presentation of public meeting materials, reviewing the local zoning guidelines and providing recommendations based on those guidelines, and preparing recommendations for important placemaking components, including complete-street streetscape improvements, functional public spaces, green infrastructure elements, and wayfinding signage for nearby civic spaces.
