WPD led the landscape design and the municipal review process for the Ithaca Arthaus affordable housing development. One of the first mixed-use developments set in the new Cherry Street District, this building provides an on-site gallery space and 120 units of affordable housing to artists and at-risk youth. Residents share studio spaces for ceramics, visual arts, sound engineering, and recording, and have the ability to create, store, and exhibit their works. In addition to landscape design WPD met with neighbors and interviewed with local media outlets related to the project. We also assisted in fostering a relationship between the developer and the Cherry Street Arts community, and coordinated with architectural teams to ensure that the art space is visible from the street.
